5 Tips To Help You Create A Marketing Plan For 2022

The new year is only 2 months away, is your digital marketing plan ready for 2022? One of the easiest ways that you can help your business succeed in 2022 is to take the time to create a marketing plan. Now is the time to get organized and set yourself up for the new year. Here are five tips that can help you to create a marketing plan and be prepared for 2022.

5 Tips To Help You Create A Marketing Plan For 2022

1. Use Your Marketing Plan To Plan Your Content For The Whole Year

Pull out a calendar and take some time to write out all of the content that you want to create this year. Give a deadline for every campaign that you wish to run in 2022. You don’t have to actually create the content, all you have to do is write out what content you are going to be creating for each month of 2022. For example, Valentine’s Day is in February, so you might want to create a Valentine’s Day marketing campaign during the first two weeks of the month. You might think about creating a two-for-one promotion, sharing romantic themed content that is related to your niche, and hosting a romantic giveaway. Write your Valentine’s campaign down so that you can start scheduling time to create the campaign.

Another great way for getting ideas for content that you want to create in 2022 is to lookup national days that occur during each month. Whether it is national donut day or national dog day, you can use these days to create fun content that your audience can connect with. Write out when each day is so that your social media marketing plan is ready when the time comes.

2. Take Time To Review The Current Year

Looking back on the current year is a key activity when planning for the next year. Take some time and go over your marketing outcomes and see what worked really well for you, and what didn’t work well at all. Really dive into your analytics, the more results you have to go over, the more lessons you can learn. Take a look at all of your social accounts, any promotions you ran, and any offline marketing that you used throughout the year and see if you can find any successful patterns and unsuccessful patterns.

3. Set Your Goals

A very important part of planning your marketing strategy is to set goals. You need to set SMART goals so that you can a) hold yourself accountable and b) actually tell if you are making progress. Take time to write out all of the marketing goals you have for 2022.

4. Fine-tune Your Marketing Strategy

Once you reflected on the current year and you set up your goals for the next year, look over your current marketing strategy. What elements of your current marketing strategy line up with your goals? What elements need to be improved so that you can reach your goals? Do your research on best practices for each platform and strategy that you use and create a marketing plan that is going to take you where you want to go in 2022.

If you don’t have a current marketing strategy, take the time to create one that is aligned with your goals for the next year. I.e. if your goal is to gain 1000 Instagram followers by June 30th, 2022, write what steps you are going to take to reach that goal.

5. Celebrate Your Wins

Our last tip is to celebrate your wins from the current year. No matter how big or small your wins might be it is important to celebrate them. This year was hard, so take time to congratulate yourself and your staff on all of the marketing wins your company achieved this year. Treat yourself and your staff to some baked goods, have a virtual happy hour and pat yourself on the back for all that you accomplished this year.

Those are our tips to help you create a marketing plan for 2022. If you need more marketing help and are ready to work with a team of professionals, set up your free consultation call now.
