Questions To Help You Develop Your Brand

Develop a brand
Taking time to develop your own brand is one of the most important things that you can do when you first start a business. At its core brand creation and development is all about creating a personality for your business that allows your target audience to be able to recognize your company, understand what your company is about, and what separates you from your competitors.
There are a few different things that every good brand needs, in order for it to be as effective as possible. Every brand should have:
  • Mission statement
  • Vision Statement
  • Values
  • Brand Story
  • Logo
  • Brand fonts
  • Brand colours
  • Target audience
  • Tagline
  • Niche
If you have never taken the time to create a brand, it might feel overwhelming. At first, you might feel a little lost and might get stuck trying to come up with each element listed above. Try not to stress too much, it is normal to be lost at first. To help you out, we have created some questions that can help you to brainstorm and develop your brand. The questions are a mix of serious and fun and can help you to overcome any blocks and start getting some ideas written down. We recommend that you turn off your phone, eliminate all your distractions, get yourself a cup of coffee and answer each question one at a time. Remember that there are no wrong answers and that this exercise is designed to help you brainstorm.

What pain points does your company address for your audience?
Where do you see your business in 1 year from now? 3 years? 5 years? 10 years?
What is your top goal for your company?
If you had to choose ONLY 3 words to describe your brand, what would they be?
Who is your target audience? Get as specific as possible. How do they talk? How do they dress? Where do they work? Are they single or in a relationship? What are the most important things in their life?
What do you want your company to be remembered for?
How did you start your business?
If your brand was a destination, which destination would it be?
If your brand was a drink, what drink would it be?
If your brand was a song, what song would it be?
If your brand was a piece of clothing, what item would it be?
